The long weekend in May is now behind us and with the longer, lazier days of summer in front of us, there’s more time to be outdoors, digging in the dirt in the garden, on the golf course or walking on our fabulous riverfront with the family. The long Ontario winter is finally over and with that comes the freedom to do what we love, outside!

Tips of the Month: How to Spruce up for Summer
A lot of the items in your garage you “wanted to remove from the house,” but didn’t want to put out at the curb! This is the time of the year to decide what goes to charity or what gets sold in a yard sale. With less stuff, you will find there is less to organize. Start by looking at some of the items that are cluttering up the space- if you haven’t used it in a year, you probably won’t use it this year either.
You may want to add lighting to your favourite shrubs or plants to highlight the outdoor space around your home. Indoors, you’ll find adding greenery or ferns will transform a room and create a fresh inviting space. The key to summer time living is to keep it simple, fresh and clutter-free.
Barbecue Cleaning: Scrub away any residue from your grill by sprinkling baking soda on a damp brush and rinse clean. For really difficult stains, make a paste with 3 parts baking soda to 1 part warm water and use a wire brush to clean away all the dirt and grease.
Grass Stain Remover: Mix equal parts of baking soda and vinegar into a paste. Gently work in paste from the back side of the fabric. Let paste sit for 15 minutes. Wash from back with cold water; repeat if needed, then wash as usual.
